Next Round of Showers & Flakes, Wednesday February 26

After a few rounds of showers across the state this past morning and afternoon, another disturbance will be moving into the region Wednesday afternoon and evening, bringing a period of steadier showers especially across regions I-80 and northward. A few colder spots in far northern Pennsylvania may see a few flakes mix in, especially if daytime warming is limited throughout the afternoon hours.

FUTURE RADAR:

Rain showers will break across western Pennsylvania by the early afternoon hours before spreading across the state from west to east. The steadiest rain will occur along I-80 and northward with rain becoming steady across more regions during the late evening and overnight hours. Some areas across the far northern tier may mix with snow at times, with limited accumulations expected (less than a half inch).

TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS:

Rainfall amounts will be a bit more impressive than our event today as it will have more moisture to work with. Expect a general 0.25″ – 0.50″ of rainfall across much of northern tier, with less than 0.25″ across the southern tier. It will be much-needed precipitation, especially as we are heading into the spring months.

POSSIBLE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS:

A few snowflakes may mix in during the afternoon and evening hours tomorrow, primarily across the higher terrain across northern and northwestern Pennsylvania. A quick trace to a half inch of snow will be possible, mostly limited to elevated surfaces due to the warmer conditions. Road conditions should not be impacted.

HIGH TEMPERATURES WEDNESDAY 2/26:

Despite the raindrops and flakes expected, tomorrow will be another mild day across the region with high temperatures ranging from the low-40s to low-60s, with the most warmest spots across far southern and southeastern Pennsylvania where they will remain the driest and most cloud-free. If you are able to get outdoors to enjoy the milder conditions in between rain showers, enjoy most of it! If you have any questions and/or concerns, feel free to reach out.
